Premise: Just a week after I left my lovely Country the Nairobi city has been so sadly attacked by terrorists and this are my words towards the same.
Sun darkens in the City under the Sun
Humble earthlings are moving forth and back
They naively and innocently carry on with their
Daily busyness n' business not at all warned about
Or warmed up for the painful disaster in the waiting
Poor and innocent beings not knowing their lives the
Enemy is evilly n' cunningly waiting for their tearing
Attempting to hurt the nation and put it into mourning
We are one people one nation one world under one God
Suddenly the city under the sun is under a siege
Sunshine in the city's west unexpectedly goes to hiding
The evil men terrorize the innocent mortals inhumanly
Bullets n’ grenades tear the people’s flesh without mercy
Tension continues to rise as the innocent blood begins
To shockingly ooze out of the innocent lives so unjustifiably
The evil of terrorism heinously hits the beautiful nation
We are one people one nation one world under one God
Sad news spread across the city, the nation and the globe
Tension n’ attention meet in the saving of the innocent lives
Held hostage by enemies of truth n’ justice in the Westgate
The terrorists have decided to invade us in our own soil
Pushing the entire nation into one major state of apprehension
As the victims in trepidation cry for their able and loving ones
Seeking for their intervention in the midst of both fear n’ hope
We are one people one nation one world under one God
The men in uniform join hands with the fourth estate
With each taking cover to do their best to cover and uncover
as the entire nations grieves and joins them to rescue
The airwaves are loaded with communication and cries
As people seek their friends’ n’ kin on line and in line
The agony in the inside of the mall we of the outside
Are left to only imagine, pray and hope it will be well
We are one people one nation one world under one God
As the rescuers try to manoeuvre into the deadly mall
The terror and the fear can be felt and heard across the state
In the sight of the panicky wounded and the dead that
Are running walking or crawling from the inside the
Families’ friends and onlookers are heavy of heart and soul
As their only strand to hold on remains the God of creation
And the neighbours they love or don’t really love
We are one people one nation one world under one God
In the eyes of fear and death the nation stands tested
The differences are abandoned as the nation in harmony
Stands though so emotionally struck yet fully reassured in
The strong spirit on one people one nation as the head
Of our dearly loved state firmly states in his briefing
Emphasizing the values of love compassion and solidarity
That has for half a century kept the nation as one
We are one people one nation one world under one God
Lives have been lost bodies wounded and hearts are hurting
People are mourning as one nation and acting in solidarity
Thousands queuing as one tribe to donate life by giving blood
Knees are bended n’ arms raised in prayers of intercessions
Messages of condolence are flowing from local and global
As the people and their leaders join heart n’ hands in love seeking
Hope n’ faith rising in such deep n’ moving acts of compassion
We are one people one nation one world under one God
As we watch the resilience of our soldiers putting their life in
The thin death line for the sake of their nation and its people
As humans of good will continue to tie the knots of patriotism
In their lines of giving and on the lines of socializing to oneness
People of all kinds giving food, cash and blood is indeed kindness
Though they may cut us but we will never run dry of life
They may attack us and fight us but they will never disunite us
They may try all in their evil terror but we will always remain one Kenya
We are one people one nation one world under one God
We mourn the death and injuries of our friends and our loved ones
Not only from Kenya but from all corners of the world
May the God of creation give us hope and wipe our tears
May he comfort the widowed and the orphaned as he RIP the dead
May He encourage our hearts and heal our wounded friends
May his love unite us with him and with all our neighbours
May he protect our land and bless our nation we pray
We are one people one nation one world under one God
When our eyes are wet with hurting tears
When our hearts are heavy with painful groaning
When our souls are overwhelmed with sorrowful mourning
When our minds are roaming in deep unending questions
Even at the deepest of the valleys of fear and death
Then shall we still continue trusting God our all
For where else will we get our help?
We are one people one nation one world under one God
