Before the hangman pulls the rope...

In large crowds we rallied tirelessly,
With unquenchable cheers of jubilation,
Corded with them we sang and danced,
Enjoying the blink warmth of their dirty monies,
Hating and insulting each other all for their sake,
In the exercise of democracy we wore the rope,
On our necks the knotted rope we eagerly placed,
Yes! we the innocent voters are to blame!

Oh yes It us who did it again,
It is us who made the decisions again,
It is us who are to blame for it again,
It is us who had the real power again,
It us who held the swords in our own arms,
In the exercise of democracy we wore the rope,
On our necks the knotted rope we eagerly placed,
Yes! we the innocent voters are to blame!

It is us who are mourning and suffering now,
It us who are fighting and complaining now,
It is us who are gathering and rioting now,
It us who are powerless and helpless again,
It us to whom the sharp sword is pointing,
In the exercise of democracy we wore the rope,
On our necks the knotted rope we eagerly placed,
Yes! we the innocent voters are to blame!

It is them  whom we choose the other day,
It is them whom we praised the other day,
It is them whose people we were the other day,
It is them who represent our society of today,
It is them our image on the life's mirror today,
In the exercise of democracy we wore the rope,
On our necks the knotted rope they are pulling tight,
Yes! we the innocent voters are to blame!

Shall we fire them and move on with life?
Shall we protest and regulate their visible greed?
Shall we go back and get fresh ones on board?
Shall we befriend them and eat their cake crumbs?
Shall we do away with all political leadership?
In the exercise of democracy we wore the rope,
On our necks the knotted rope they are pulling tight,
Yes! we the innocent voters are to blame!

Is there any hope for us the common men?
Is there any hope for us the nation's majority?
Is there hope for the suffering children of our mother?
Is this the end of hope or just the beginning?
Is this the way it will always be every single time?
In the exercise of democracy we wore the rope,
On our necks the knotted rope they are pulling tight,
Yes! we the innocent voters are to blame!

The wind of change has to blow in its urgency,
Beginning from within everyone to their families,
Spreading from every single family to every village,
Sweeping across all villages to the entire nation,
Change! Only change will change things,
Through the same democracy we can cut this rope,
Off our necks the knotted rope we can abandon,
Yes! we the innocent voters are to salvage!

Us who are counted as elites must be elites in deed,
Us who still believe must put such faith into action,
Us who understand and share the pain must swiftly act,
Us who can read and understand this must start now,
Only with clean fingers we can actively point out the dirt,
Through the same democracy we can cut this rope,
Off our necks the knotted rope we can abandon,
Yes! we the innocent voters are to salvage!
